Stacy J. Ettinger is a partner in the firm's Washington, D.C. office and focuses her practice on public policy. She has over 20 years of experience working in Congress and the executive branch. Her experience spans a variety of fields, including international trade, intellectual property, and regulatory issues, as well as food and product standards, motor vehicle safety, and consumer financial services.Ms. Ettinger has substantial experience working closely with senior U.S. and foreign government officials and Fortune 500 executives, navigating complex regulatory and compliance regimes and negotiating agreements.

Prior to joining K&L Gates, Ms. Ettinger served as a senior legal and policy advisor to Senator Charles Schumer, including as Chief Counsel of the United States Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, and as Deputy Staff Director of the Joint Economic Committee. Prior to joining the Senator's legislative team, she served as a senior legal advisor at the U.S. Department of Commerce. Ms. Ettinger advised agency officials on the interpretation and application of U.S. and foreign trade rules, supervised dispute settlement proceedings before the World Trade Organization, and represented the United States in international trade negotiations.
