Edward J. Rendon joined Capitol Advocacy in 2017, bringing over 25 years of experience working in the fields of government affairs, higher education, student counseling, labor and management relations, non-profits and workforce development. Edward's unique experience across many sectors positions him to advocate effectively on behalf of the firm's clients.

Along with joining the Sacramento team with Capitol Advocacy, Edward is a partner with Spiker Consulting Group based in Los Angeles, advocating for clients in Southern California. At the Spiker Group, Edward advocates for a diverse array of industries including cannabis, land use and real estate development, environmental solutions, engineering, technology, and transportation.

Prior to joining Capitol Advocacy, Edward founded the San Gabriel Valley Civic Alliance (SGVCA), a business advocacy organization specializing in multi-sector collaboratives and public private partnerships. As Chairman, he crafted the SGVCA into a coalition-building powerhouse, garnering recognition from the cities of Los Angeles and Long Beach for its work in regional policy outcomes. The organization promotes innovative policy and fiscal solutions for municipal agencies, school districts and college boards.

Edward has served as a Senate President Pro Tem appointee to the California Employment Training Panel in Sacramento for 11 years. Other civic engagement includes: California Board of Optometry, Los Angeles City WIB, San Bernardino County WIB, Vernon Business Advisory Committee, ELAC Foundation Board of Directors, AIPAC National Council, UCLA Labor Center Advisor, Co-founder: Transportation Opportunity Program and the Los Angeles Trade Tech Labor Center faculty. Earlier in his career, he left his role in higher education for the private sector to join Con-Way Transportation. As a human resource director, he hired, trained and evaluated hourly and management employees. The following year he began his tenure with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters as a Business Representative representing 1,200 United Parcel Service members. He ascended to Director of Public Affairs in 2001, representing the government affairs interests of 150,000 members in Southern California, Southern Nevada and Hawaii. Edward spearheaded hundreds of elections, voter registration drives and fundraising campaigns. He also worked collaboratively with private sector companies on federal, state and local legislative issues.
