Patricia (Trish) Rimo is a seasoned professional with over 19 years'
experience in government relations and public affairs. She served as a Senior
Consultant for the niche public affairs firm Washington Resource Associates,
focusing on federal and state advocacy campaigns. She headed the government
affairs office and served as chief lobbyist for Lucent Technologies, overseeing
federal, state and international advocacy and helping her internal clients
achieve significant legislative and regulatory victories. Additionally, Ms. Rimo
spent five years as Corporate Vice President of Government Affairs for Science
Applications International Corporation (SAIC), representing the company and its
technology subsidiaries on all policy issues. Previously she headed Government
Affairs for Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore), where she helped save
two lines of business for the company during House and Senate negotiations over
The Telecommunications Act of 1996.
Ms. Rimo has successfully managed a broad range of issues in Washington,
including health care, pension, intellectual property, cyber-security and
telecommunications. She has strong bi-partisan contacts on Capitol Hill and with
members of the Administration. She has earned a reputation as a highly effective
advocate, coalition builder, negotiator and strategic planner as well as an
excellent communicator. Ms. Rimo has held leadership positions in several trade
associations and public-private coalitions. She has a strong track record of
results.
Ms. Rimo began her public affairs career at Verizon Communications, where she
was the principal spokesperson for regulatory and policy issues. She also
conducted grassroots and media campaigns for the company. Prior to that, Ms.
Rimo was an Assistant Professor of English and Journalism at Mount St. Mary's
College in Emmitsburg, MD. She has been a board member of Women in Government
Relations and the Digital Dialogue Forum. She holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in
English from the University of Delaware and a B.A. in English from Douglass
College of Rutgers University. Ms. Rimo and her husband reside in Silver Spring,
MD, and Long Beach Township, NJ.
