Ian
Pfeiffer works on Transportation, Infrastructure and
Appropriations issues for Turner GPA. Prior to joining Turner
GPA, Ian served as Legislative Director to a House of
Representatives member. As Legislative Director, Ian’s work
focused on the House Transportation and Infrastructure
Committee, where he coordinated a bi-partisan California
delegation strategy for securing state policy initiatives and
projects in the reauthorization of surface transportation bill.
Through this role, he developed a strong network of contacts
across the California Congressional delegation, and in the
statewide and national transportation community.
Ian served as Ranking Member’s staff associate to the House
Transportation Committee’s Coast Guard and Maritime
Transportation Subcommittee. As the Ranking Member’s staff
associate, he assisted in development of the Caucus position on
drafting, debating, and advancing all legislation under the
Subcommittee’s jurisdiction, and he represented Ranking Member
at conference committee meetings on the FY’05 Coast Guard
Authorization bill, the legislative vehicle for all maritime
related issues passed by Congress each year.
As a legislative staffer to Colorado & Californian
Representatives, Ian orchestrated the collection, selection, and
advocacy efforts for all district specific appropriations
projects. He worked hand in hand with constituents and local
elected officials to ensure that projects were vetted,
appropriate funding sources were identified, and their story was
told effectively and efficiently to our Senators, as well as
members of the House Appropriations Committee. He actively
coordinated district events with executive branch, state and
local officials, and met with interest groups and constituents
regarding pending legislation.
In addition to his professional experience on Capitol Hill,
Ian holds a Master's of Public Administration and Politics
degree from Rutgers University’s Edward J. Bloustein School of
Planning and Public Policy.
