Brent M. Eastwood, PhD, handles defense and aerospace for Turner
Government and Public Affairs. Brent is an experienced defense
and foreign policy analyst. In 2007, he attended the Middle East
Peace Conference in Annapolis, Maryland and was approved by the
State Department to be an academic representative for George
Mason University. Brent was chosen to represent the U.S. at the
2006 NATO Summit "Young Leaders' Forum" in Riga, Latvia where he
helped make policy recommendations on Afghanistan security to
the NATO Secretary-General. Brent is also an Adjunct Professor
at George Mason University School of Public Policy where he
teaches graduate seminars in national security, governance, and
public policy.He is a
contributor to The American, a national magazine from the
American Enterprise Institute where he has written stories on
Iraq security and Middle East diplomacy. Brent has served as an
Adjunct Researcher in Science and Technology for the RAND
Corporation's National Defense Research Institute. He conducted
strategic policy, performed technical analysis, and co-authored
two studies for the Under Secretary of Defense, Acquisition,
Technology, and Logistics (AT&L). He is a former US Army
Infantry officer and Distinguished Military Graduate with five
years military experience.
Brent currently serves in local government as a
member of the Alexandria, Virginia Commission on Employment and the
Arlington/Alexandria Workforce Investment Board in Virginia.
Brent also served several years
in radio and television news where his work was seen on CNN
Headline News and Fox TV's America's Most Wanted. He
participated in America's Most Wanted "Quickest Capture of All
Time," in 1997.Brent has
earned a PhD in Political Science/ Public Policy, an MA in
International Studies, and an MS in Journalism from West
Virginia University. He has a BA in English from Oberlin
College.
