Biography

In late 2017 Paul Snider created Snider Public Affairs to leverage his business, community and policy background on behalf of clients. The business has been a success, representing large energy consumers, public transportation agencies, broadband providers, agribusiness and environmental advocates.

Prior to establishing his consulting firm, Paul led government affairs efforts for the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA), promoting public transportation issues.

Before joining the KCATA, Paul was in a leadership role with Brightergy, a commercial rooftop solar company. Much of his energy involvement came from Kansas City Power & Light (KCP&L), where he led the electric utility's government affairs team for many years. While at KCP&L, Snider worked to advance various components of the company's Comprehensive Energy Plan, particularly renewable energy and enabling legislation to support investments in energy efficiency.

Paul has also held public affairs positions with Missouri Gas Energy and Public Strategies Inc., a public affairs firm providing legislative and regulatory strategy for AT&T.

Active in several chambers of commerce, Paul has worked extensively with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, serving in leadership roles for many policy efforts. In November 2017 Paul was elected to the Board of Trustees for Johnson County Community College. He continues to serve as an appointed commissioner for the Johnson County (KS) Parks & Recreation District, serving as chair of the board in 2016 and 2017, and recently served on the board of United Community Services of Johnson County (KS).

Paul is a graduate of Leadership Kansas and has participated in Rotary and YouthFriends. He graduated from Washburn University in Topeka and received a Master's in Business Administration from Baker University. He lives in Lenexa, KS with his wife Alice and three daughters.
