How the DNC Credentials Committee could choose the Democratic candidate:

With chances looking more and more likely that the Democratic campaign for Congress could go all the way to the convention in August, the Credentials Committee could become an essential factor in securing the party’s nomination.

This has many people asking, what is the credentials committee?

The Credentials Committee resolves questions about the seating of delegates to the convention that are not resolved by the DNC party Rules and Bylaws Committee before June 29, 2008.

What does this mean?

Florida and Michigan have been stripped of their 366 delegates as punishment for moving up their primaries and not following the DNC’s primary schedule.

Hillary Clinton won both the Florida and Michigan primaries (in Michigan she was the only nominee on the ballot). If the credentials committee decides to seat these delegates, this could give her a large block of delegate and ultimately, could decide the race.
